Church News Briefs Beatties Ford Trinity Baptist Church To Honor Rev. Robert Miller By Teresa Simmons Posl Managing Editor Beatties Ford Trinity Baptist Church will honor their pastor. Rev Robert M Miller, Sunday, Septem ber 19 at 3 p.m. on his Appreciation Day. The evangelist on this occasion will be Rev. Marcus Pride of St Peters Baptist Church. Please come out and make this annual day a success. The public is cordially invited to attend. Beatties Ford Trinity Baptist is located at 315 Trinity Road. TORRENCE GROVE Homecoming service at Torrence Grove AME Zion Church in Newell, Rev. S. B. Turner pastor, will be held Sunday, September 19. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Winfield, Greenville, will speak at 2:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. Rev Cunning ham of Lancaster, S.C. wll render the service. Revival begins at the church Monday, Septem ber 20 and ends on Fri day. Evangelist for the week will be Rev. Shelton Ship man from Reeves Temple AME Zion Church in Davidson. Everyone is cordially in vited to attend. HOPEWELL AME ZION The Usher Board of Hopewell AME Zion Church, Huntersville, NC, will sponsor a Fish Fry Dinner Saturday, Septem ber 18, at the church, at 2 p.m. There will also be hot dogs, hamburgers and more. All are invited to come out and to enjoy the soft ball game hosted by the Hopewell Roots (who just won the championship) which begins at 3 p.m. Proceeds will go towards the church's Building Fund. Rev. Walter Huggins Jr. is the pastor. The church is located off Beatties Ford Rd., next to Beatties Ford Park Me morial Gardens. EAST STONEWALL AME ZION All choirs will rehearse this week at their regular scheduled times. Members are encouraged to please be present and on time. For the month of Sep tember Willie Culbreth, one of the most respected members in the congrega tion was honored and re cognized. Culbreth became a mem ber of the church when it Rev. Bob Walton .Green Oaks speaker was entitled Gilfield Bap tist Church. He htfs shown his faithfulness to the church by participating on the Young Men's Chorus, The Hymn Choir; Sunday School; participating in Prayer Meetings; and the Trustee Board. Culbreth is the only male who is a member of a Missionary Group. Being a special person is an easy task for Culbreth. A quiet gentleman he is known for his faith and the love he has shown to his church and family. He is married and has four sons and one daughter. Some years ago he retired from the H. K. Porter Mill. Today he enjoys using his hands to make various en terprising articles. He is now enrolled at the Park wood Center in a sewing class and is known to be one of the most talented and outstanding students. The University Park family invites you to the annual revival kick-off while they present their Young Adult Choir in con cern, Sunday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. Rev. J. H.
