At Barber-Scotm College
Public Invited To First Festival On The Green
..CONCORD - Barber
Scotia College will host its
first annual “BSC Festival
On The Green" on Satur
day, October 30, from 10
a.m. until 5 p.m. on the
campus quadrangle. The
event is expected to draw
between 800 to 1,000 people
from the surrounding com
munities.
The “BSC Festival On
the Green” is a potpourri of
exhibits and sales, arts and
crafts, foods, music, dance,
games and other forms of
planned activities.
“We are very excited
about the festival,” says
Melvin Walton, BSC public
relations director. "Being
an integral part of the
community, uaroer-bcoiia
has planned this festival as
part of the institution's con
tinued effort to blend the
college with the commun
ity. And there has been a
great response from the
community in terms of fes
tival preparations.”
Festival goers should de
finitely look forward to the
center stage entertainment
program which will offer
jazz, gospel, folk, rhythm
and blues, and clogging
continuously throughout
the day. The entertainment
acts have been designed to
appeal to all age groups,
says Walton.
The youngsters will find
added attractions in
clowns, games and prizes
along with artists who will
paint their faces. There
will also be plenty balloons
and other delights for the
young at heart.
Bordering the festival
quadrangle will be exhibits
of paintings, photography,
woodcraft, and arts and
crafts.-'

val goers. There will be

able to see, as well as to
buy.”

says Walton, “but we’ve
had a lot of support. Now,
we’re hoping for a nice day
and looking forward to see
ing our community friends
for a fun-filled day of free
fun.”
