Calendar On The Wall Spotlights Southern Slows The calendar on the wall of Southern Shows, Inc. spotlights the number of days until the Southern Christmas Show, You may want to mark your calen dar. This year’s dates are November 13-21, at the Merchandise Mart. The show’s master floor plan in Joan Zimmerman’s office is marked with in teresting names. Mrs. Zim merman, who assigns space in the show, says the waiting list to get into the show is longer than those already assisgned space. “We don’t want to dis courage anyone from ap plying, however,” said Mrs. Zimmerman, “be cause we do have cancel lations, and then we choose products previous show visitors have asked for from the waiting list.” Among the show’s new features will be an Animal Christmas by the Museum of York County. They plan to create a forest scene filled with animals. Each show visitor will be handed a guide as they enter the forest so they can spot and identify the animals. Schiele Museum of Gas tonia, not to be outdone, will install an authentic Indian Winter Plains en campment. Charlotte’s Historic Fourth Ward plans a Vic torian Parlor at Christmas. The parlor will look out on a cobblestone street, com plete with horse drawn car riage piled high with pack ages. Hezekiah Alexander Au xiliary is designing an ex panded area for their doll houses. Auxiliary mem bers are already busy decking them out with the finest of tiny furnishings. Carowinds will return this year with a Hanna Barbara fantasy, and Santa Claus will be on hand to make sure things run with the right ho! ho! ho! Many old show favorite names can be seen on the list of several hundred craftspeople. They’ll be joined by new friends work ing with wrought iron, Chinese cutouts, intricate pottery, perfedt quilts, hand carved ornaments and much more. There will be decorated Christmas trees, mantels, doors and windows. The Holiday Magic Theatre is scheduling new cooking clinics and recipe books to add to your collection. From the sound of the food section we should start dieting right now if we plan to sample all the goodies.
