G1AA Southern Division Title Barely Escapes Bulls’ Grasp
One great difference be
tween a wise man and a
fool is the former only
wishes for what he may
possibly obtain; the latter
desires impossibilities.
. JUST OUT OF REACH...
There were about five or
six buses of J.C. Smith
_ followers who traveled to
Durham last Saturday for
the all important CIAA
match-up with North Carol
ina Central University.
Even though they yelled
some, cursed some and
prayed some, it wasn’t
enough to pull the Bulls
through. Notwithstanding,
the gallant efforts of a
determined defense-mind
ed team, the CIAA South
ern Division championship
just escaped the Bulls’
grasp. The most worthy
players reached for the
moon and fell upon an ever
shining star. The star of
respectability and love of
their many followers.
Carol Westbrook, Mr.
and Mrs. Tommy Watkins,
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Her
ron, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel
Scott were just a few of the
people found in Durham
last Saturday afternoon.
YOURS, MINE AND
OURS...The Pizazz Band
formed a picture-sound
gallery last Friday night
that was boundless in its
intense entertainment
value. The six piece group
including a female vocalist
made such an impression
on the large audience, that
Leroy “Product" Watkins
will probably have them
back real soon.
Another very successful
venture was the male
revue-Physical and
Unique. This recent show
was for the ladies, and boy
did they have a good time.
Every Sunday evening
from 6-10 p.m., Yours,
Mine and Ours features the
only jazz performed on the
Westside. The Michael
Porter Trio plays the kind
of music that never gets
old. The kind of music that
wakes the soul and lifts it
high - a sublime com
munion.
After the body has been
