How To Do Business With The Federal Government” Special To The Post North Carolina business people can learn “How To Do Business With the Federal Government" at a day-long conference by that title on Thursday, Oc tober 27, at the Charlotte Civic Center. The conference is spon sored by U.S. Represent ative Jim Martin, and co sponsored by the Greater Charlotte Chamber of Com merce, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Business Division of the North Carolina Depart ment of Commerce and the National Federation of In dependent-Business . The conference is de signed to increase aware ness of the types of goods and services needed by the federal government and its prime contractors. With the cooperation of the UTS. Departments of Commerce and Defense, the confer ence is planned to focus on the opportunities North Carolina businesses may have to sell to the federal government. The Charlotte-Mecklen burg ceagu* Of Women Voters is sponsoring the de bate which will be telecast on WSOC-TV, Channel 9, 6-7 p.m. A panel of local news reporters, Including The Charlotte Post reporter Karen Parker, will ques tion the candidates during the first half hour. Then the audience will have an op portunity to ask questions. Bill Walter, WSOC-TV news director, will serve as moderator. Arthritis Care “The Team Approach To Arthritis Care’’ is the theme of the fourth annual “Arthritis Awareness Week workshop to be held Thursday, November 3. in the auditorium of tte United Way building, 301 S. Brevard St The workshop is for arthritis patients, their families, parents of children with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and interested health profes sionals.
