Jim Martin ' . !...U.S. Congressman Martin Seeks Candidates For Academies Representative Jim Martin (R-NC) is seeking young men endw^men who might be interested in re ceiving a free college edu cation while pursuing a career as an officer in the armed forces. Congressman Martin.. said he is currently receiv ing applications from high school juniors who an interested in attending West Point, Annapolis, the Air Force Academy, or the Merchant Marine Aca demy. The Congressman stressed that nominations are based solely on the recommendations of non partisan review panels for each academy. Each military institution offers a full four year col lege education at no coat to the appointee or their pa rents. Also, all medical and dental benefits are provid ed at no cost to the stu dents. Arts Festival The JCSU Union Pro gram Board is presenting its annual Fine Arts Fes tival. Recruitment Day Program Set For May 5 The Charlotte Chapter of North Carolina Central University invites all area high school students to at tend our Annual Recruit ment Day Program, Satur day, May S, at noon at West Charlotte High School Omni Room. Our purpose is to into duce the students and their parents to the University through the dynamic pre sentations by our Director of Admissions, Mrs. Nancy Rowland. The University offers a wide range of un dergraduate and graduate majors.
