MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
The City-County Purchasing Director will receive
sealed bids for the paving and landscaping of the
parking lot at McAlpine Green way Park until 10:00
a.m. on the 26th day of June, 1984, in the City-County
Purchasing Department’s Conference Room, City
Hall Annex, 600 East Trade Street, Charlotte, North
Carolina at which time and place Bids will be
opened and read aloud. Bids will be taken for the
general work as specified on the project plans and
specifications. Proposals must be made on standard
forms furnished by the County and must be marked,
“Proposal for Parking Facilities at McAlpine
Greenway Park - General.” The project is located
at 8711 Old Monroe Road, eastern Charlotte, North
Carolina.
Complete Drawings and Specifications may be
obtained from the Office of the Director of
Engineering, 700 North Tryon Street. A $30.00 plans
deposit Is required for this project. Checks made
-payable-to Mecklenburg County will be accepted.
Cash will not be accepted as a plans deposit. Deposit
checks will be returned to the bidder provided plans
and specifications are returned to the Director of
Engineering in good condition within 10 days after
bid opening date,

equal to 5 percent of the net price bid. This deposit

The York—Suburban
Knights, an award-win
ning high school band from
York. Pa., will perform on
Friday, May 25, at noon
near the Square in uptown
Charlotte.
The band, which has
over 100 members, will also
participate in the Goody’s
Pole Day Parade of
Lights on May 23.
Band Director, Arlington
Kahley, was selected as
one of the 10 outstanding
band directors in the U.S
in 1980.
During its 26-year his
tory, the band has repre
sented Pennsylvania in the
Macy’s Parade and the
Cherry Blossom Parade in
Washington, D.C. It has re
ceived numerous awards,
including a superior rating
as a concert band from the
