is received from the out
side. How could you, a dead
and totally depraved sin
ner, give yourself eternal
life. You cannot, Salva
tion is of the Lord,
(Jonah 2:9). You are ah
earthly creature, you can
not give yourself any
thing heavenly. All we see
in our churches today is
man-made methods to get
sinners saved. Not a one of
them will work. It is not
within the power of any
sinner to save himself. And
this saying, “just give me
10 minutes with a sinner
I can lead him to
- Christ/'. is. a. trick . of. the.
Devil. No man can lead a
sinner to Christ. That is the
work of the Holy Spirit. But
since our preachers don’t
know the Holy Spirit, they
have to substitute man
made methods to win souls
to Christ. Which in fact do
not win souls to Christ, but
makes the twofold more of
the child of Hell. Now, you
can get mad with these
truths and me all you want
to, before you are ever
saved you’ll acknowledge
I'm giving you the truth.
And before you can be
saved, you are going to stop
criticizing God’s ser
, vant. You’ll never be
saved as long as you are
finding fault.
Look at these words,
“AS MANY AS THOU
HAST GIVEN HIM.”
There’s the doctrine of
election. The Bible does
not teach universal salva
tion. As long as I was a
free-wilier I believed in
universal salvation. All
over the religious world it
is taught that all a sinner
has to do is change his
mind and that is salvation.
Some of these free-willers
have been harping that
reprentence is a change of
mind. I’ll grant you that
there is a change of mind,
but, oh, the change of mind
that takes places when a
sinner is truly repenting!
Yes, repentence is a
change of mind, but it is far
different than you have any
icfea of. Repentence is a
wRnowledging what God
says about you. You be
come a “yes man” to God.
He shows you what a worm
you are and that you love
sin rather than Him. And
you admit that to Him.
Have you ever been walk
ing down a road on a hot
summer day and come
across a dead carcass?
You stood there for a
second and saw the mag
gots eating and having
their fill of all the rotten
and stinking flesh. What a
horrible sight, you say. And
then you took a stick and
made an opening in the
dead carcass, letting in
light; every maggot tried
to go deeper in the car

THAT’S YOU! That is how
God sees you. In your
natural state you are just a
maggot who lives nothing
but a rotten carcass (sin).
Would you think that such a
maggot could do anything
to enter Heaven and sit in
the presence of a holy and
righteous God? A million
times no. Sinner friend,
you are that worm, and
there is nothing you can do
to clean yourself up and
make yourself presentable
before a thrice holy and
righteous God. Now, some
one may say, “Then I don’t
have a worm’s chance of
being saved.” That’s right,
on your own strength you
don’t have a worm’s
chance to be saved.
But don’t despair, the
Lord Jesus Christ died to
save such a worm as you
see yourself to be. The
sinner who sees himself
like this is an object of
God’s election before the
foundation of the world,
(Eph. 1). When Adam fell
in the Garden of Eden, the
whole human race became
just worms in God’s sight.
But before the foundation
of the world, God elected a
certain number out of the
fallen race of mankind,
gave them to the Son, and
Christ came and died for
that elect number, and no
one else. Christ said, “AS
MANY AS THOU HAST
GIVEN HIM.” He did not ,
say everybody. And you
cannot read universal sal
vation into the Word of
God. Now the multitudes of
our preachers and personal
soul winners are saying a

wants to. But did you ever
stop to think that no sinner
by nature can want to be
saved? Did you? To want to
be saved cannot come from
the human nature any I
more than those worms in
that dead carcass could
have wanted light let in by
your stick. If they had
wanted the light, they
would not have tried to
bury themselves deeper in
that rotten flesh. Every ~
sinner, when the light of the
glorious Gospel of Chirst
shines into your darkened
heart even just a little,
tries to run to the dark. You
don't want you heart ex- I
posed. You don’t want to
face the fact that you are a
lost sinner. You want to
continue in your sleep of
_death._ "And this is the
condemnation, that light is
come into the world, and
men loved darkness (sin)
rather than light, because
their deeds were evil. For
every one that doeth evil
(loves evil) hateth the
light, lest his deeds should
be reproved,'' (Jn. 3:20).
There you have it. A sin
ner does not want to come
into the presence of the
Lord and have his heart
opened to see himself as he
is before God. Get this,
every sinner will have his
heart opened, but not all in
mercy. Hell is a mad house
of awakened sinners. What
these awakened sinners
are seeing now under Holy
Spirit conviction, is what
you unregenerate hearts
will see in Its fullest one
minute after death.
