Mrs..Rosa Mason Is Doing Something “Worthy” By Karen Parker Poet Staff Writer Mrs. Rosa Mason believes working in the Churchwoman of the Year Contest is an opportunity to do something worthy for her church and community. “I attend Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church and I really love it,” Mrs. Mason stated with sincerity. She has been a member there since its doors first opened, 15 years ago. Participating in various organizations and events is almost custom for Mrs. Mason. Whatever she can do to demonstrate her church is concerned about the community, she will. By participating in the Churchwoman of the Year contest she will familiarize many people in Charlotte and surrounding areas with The Charlotte Post. '“I’m also participating in the contest because I’ve been elected the Woman of the Year at Mayfield Memorial,” Mrs. Mason revealed. She received the title one week after Mother’s Day. The church membership selected Mrs. Mason by secret ballot. Mrs. Mason is also a member of the Pastor Aids and an assistant with the church’s Junior Girl Scout troop. _ Sunday morning worship is the best of Mrs. Mason’s involvements at Mayfield Memorial. “When I hear the pastor say, ‘If you have your Bibles will you turn to...’ then I know I’m about to hear a wonderful sermon,” Mrs. Mason continued.
