Mrs..Rosa Mason Is
Doing Something “Worthy”
By Karen Parker
Poet Staff Writer
Mrs. Rosa Mason
believes working in the
Churchwoman of the Year
Contest is an opportunity to
do something worthy for
her church and
community.
“I attend Mayfield
Memorial Baptist Church
and I really love it,” Mrs.
Mason stated with
sincerity. She has been a
member there since its
doors first opened, 15 years
ago. Participating in
various organizations and
events is almost custom for
Mrs. Mason. Whatever she
can do to demonstrate her
church is concerned about
the community, she will.
By participating in the
Churchwoman of the Year
contest she will familiarize
many people in Charlotte
and surrounding areas with
The Charlotte Post.
'“I’m also participating
in the contest because I’ve
been elected the Woman of
the Year at Mayfield
Memorial,” Mrs. Mason
revealed. She received the
title one week after
Mother’s Day. The church
membership selected Mrs.
Mason by secret ballot.
Part of winning is probably
based on Mrs. Mason’s

Another participant

desire to devote many
hours to projects within her
church.
To name a few, she
teaches in the Junior
Department of the Sunday
School. Mrs. Mason is also
a member of the Pastor
Aids and an assistant with
the church’s Junior Girl
Scout troop. _
Sunday morning worship
is the best of Mrs. Mason’s
involvements at Mayfield
Memorial. “When I hear
the pastor say, ‘If you have
your Bibles will you turn
to...’ then I know I’m about
to hear a wonderful
sermon,” Mrs. Mason
continued.
