Portia Boulware .Interested In sciences •Portia Boulware Returns From SES Workshop By Karen Parker Post SUff Writer Portia Boulware has re turned from the Summer Engineerin'* Science Work shop held at the U.S. Na val Academy in Anna po ll* Ms. Boulware, a high school senior at Northwest ern (Rock Hill, SC), was sponsored by the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) and the local affiliate, Me tropolitan Charlotte Chap ter (MC-M-2). The presi dent of the local chapter, Dr. Bobby Dawkins ex plained Portia was among approximately 600 high school students throughout the country participating in the week-long workshop. He added, “The session is designed to allow the nation's most outstanding students the opportunity to utilize the extensive en gineering and science la boratory and classroom fa cilities at the Naval nuiuciu/.
