cently at Christ the King Center

During the first annual “Little Mr.
and Miss Christ the King” pa
geant, Miguel Perry and Michelle
Reel were crowned as the 1984-84
winners. The determination of win
ners was based on ticket sales. Over
8800 was raised which will be used to
support the center's future activi
ties.
Capturing third place was She
ronda Wilson and Jon-Michael
Houston and in second place was
Octavia Sea brook and Steven Tay
lor.
The program, which consisted of
parents and friends, began with the
master of ceremony, WgRe New
some. Newsome acted ws supervi
sor of the center for the summer.
Entertainment was provided by
the contestants as they performed
two selections, “He's Got The Whole
World” and “Jesus Loves Me.”
In addition to the crowning of the
winners, awards of appreciation
were given to Richard Banks, the
center’s director, Robert RobinSon,
Teresa Porter and Yvette Mills,
assistants at the program. Willie
Newsome was also given an award
by the parents of the children who
called themselves “Willie’s Kids”
for the guidance and dedication he
showed the youngsters.
Other participants in the pageant
were: Corey Nance, KJiev Ratch
ford, Natasha Harris, Lefisha Davis,
Dorothyanna McManus, Shemeka
Euson, Robert Campbell, Russell
Miller, Perne 11 Torrence, Derrick
Lowery, Sylvia Jones, Chineice
Dargan, Shana Miller, and Leng
Home.
Following the pageant refresh
ments were served and featured
break dance performers.
