Susan Floyd -. .. .Medical technologist Susan Floyd Wins Mercy Hospital Contest Susan Floyd, a Medical Technolo gist in Mercy’s Microbiology Laba, is the winner of the hospital's “Name That Hospital’’ contest. The contest was held to solicit names for the new satellite hospital to be built next year in Pineville, at N.C. 51 and Park Road. Mrs. Floyd’s suggestion, Mercy Hospital South, was also submitted by 12 other employees. Sister Mary I Jerome Sprsdley, Mercy’s pra*Went, conducted a drawing September? 26 lo determine the grand prize winner. Consolation prixee were given to the other 12 entrants. Mrs. Floyd, who has worked at Mercy for six years, won a weekend far two at the Charlotte Marriott City Center^ and dinner for two at the hotel’s ™nr1wmsj ,snsisuniil “It sounds like it’s goii« to be a lot of fun,” said Mrs. Ftoydwhai asked about her prise weekend. “When I told my husband be was really excited about it, too.” —Hw Floyds are expecting fhetr first child in December, and Mrs. Floyd said they might use their weekend in early December to celebrate before the baby is born. In deciding what name to submit for the contest, Mrs. Floyd said, “I thought is should definitely have Mercy in the name, and where the hospital is located. And I wanted a short name that would be easy for people to remember.” Other Mercy employees who submitted Mercy Hospital South as the winning name were: Marvin Maxyck, Frankie Wilkerson, Marta Schonhoff, Patsy Warner, Susan Burke, Sherry Hite, Dorothy Roary, Janet Jones, Pam Johnson, Rebecca Arthur, Lynne Schachner, and Marilyn Smith.
