Exciting Things Are Happening At Spirit Square! Exciting things are happening at Spirit Square. For the next two weekends, the Tarradiddle Players will present “Don’t Count ■.Your Chickens Until They Cry Wolf,” a musical tour through Aesop’s Fables that mixes ancient wisdom with today’s wit. On October 20 and 21, the Negro Ensemble Com pany will present the award-winning play, “A Soldier’s Play." The story centers around a striking J. murder-mystery and a man’s searclT’for dignity —amid the tangle uf OlJftgle~ and new hope confronting World War II America. For those of you who don’t know this, “A Sol dier’s Play has been adapted to film and stars Howard Rollins and Patti LaBelle. The movie should be playing in a local the atre soon. Several exhibits are on display at Knight Gallery, including Russ Warren: ., “Erahlems. .of. .the. Unsee- • able: 193844,” “Kenneth Murray: Portrait of Ap palachia” and “Works by Duane Michals.” Michals’ works will be on display in the Light Factory Gallery. The fourth annual “Friends of Spirit Square” campaign is now in ses sion until November 9. Campaign drive leaders have set as their goal to recruit 1,200 Friends and to raise $110,000. To become a Friend of Spirit Square, donations in ranges of $30 to $5,000 are solicited.
