Prophet’s Column “A Stumbling Stone” "Unto you therefore which believe he is pres cious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders dis allowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the WQrd, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed," (1 Pet.. 2:7-8). 11>e Apostle Peter plainly declared that Christ is predawn to every believer. If CKrist is not precious to you, you don’t know Him. Christ fills the horizon of every believer’s life. He is All in All. He is precious to me because He is the One who redeemed me. No one else could have or would have redeemed me. Christ died for me. You wouldn't die for me. The One who died for me would have to be precious to me. His dying in my place means He suffered all the punish ment for sin that I would have had to endure throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. Only my Lord woul have done that. Several years ago I told a man; "I wish 1 could just bear your pains for a week and let you rest from them. But that wouldn’t be a drop in the bucket contrasted with what my -Lord suffered for me_Let— mt ask you a question; how much compassion do you have? Do you have compassion for others that makes you want to relieve them of their suffering? Do you have such compassion that you would go to Hell if it would mean the salvation of others? Do you have such compassion that you'd willingly be crucified if -that meant the salvation of others? Do you? Almost 100 percent of our church members, including preachers, know absolutely nothing about having com passion for others like that. Most of you wouldn’t know compassion if she was walking down the street in box car letters. That’s how selfish and hard hearted you are. I’m just stating facta, you can get mad and go to Hell for your trouble if you want to. The world is gone, and I mean the re ligious world. We are living in a time when men care nothing about the claims of Christ on their hearts. What about you? How is it between you and the Lord? This Stone which the Apostle Peter was talking about is Christ. The build ers represent the religious professors. Christ is the head of the comer, or the Comer Stone. And He is a [ Stone of stumbling, Tflfci religious professors are stumbling over Christ. That simply means you refuse to bow to Christ as Lord. You will not bow to Him! You will not have the Man Christ Jesus to rule over you. You want to work you way to Heaven. It’ll never happen, dear friends. You can’t work your way into the kingdom of God. The only way into the kingdom of God is through the Son, the Lord EChrist. You will bow i as Sovereign and over your life or go I. Note that Peter "which stumble at ord.” Multitudes ry M> make much of but refuse the Word ■t. I can just quote re without any ex planation and it makes folks so mad they could shoot me. You are stum Mfcm over the Word Whv-> . I —■ -1-.BvTrM.Ltttfr — selves as such ever get saved. As long as you think you can do something or make yourself presentable to God, you’ll never be saved. Then every believer to day is a stumbling stone Every believer is in Christ. The world hates Christ so they have to hate the be liever. 1 know souls who have been carrying hatred for me iri their hearts for over 20 years. They don’t know why they hate me. It’s simple, I represent my Lord whom you hate. You cannot get to Christ to take your hatred out on Him, so ' you take it out on me. That ' is why some of you will never be saved. You have your eyes on God’s ser vant, hating him. Peter also saidr “Love the bro therhood," (vs. 17). You cannot love Christ and carry hatred in your heart against the children of Christ. I know, you’ll come back and say that I am not your brother. Thereby try ing to excuse yourself from loving me so you can go on hating me. I pity you. There are multitudes of -deceived hearts like that plunging into Hell this very second. One day that will be you if you don’t repent and turn to Christ. Many Buying??? Selling???
