.Named “Ambassador For Christ” Kev. fifteen Thompson v New Honor- , By Tesesa Simmons Poat Managing Editor An “Ambassador For Christ.’’ It has a special ring to it. It means a messenger, servant for Christ, or one who possesses a special mission for the Christmas’ Saviour, Jesus. Charlottean, Rev. Queen Estelle Thompson recently received the “Ambassador” title from the Ame rican Christian Heritage Foundation of Washington, D.C. She has be come rather well known in many areas in Washington. As founder of Noah’s Ark Outreach Ministries, Rev. Thompson leads the ministry and friends to Washington annually. The services held earlier this year on the steps of the Capitol (by permission) were entitled, “Cam paigning For Jesus -- Demon strating The Love of God.” The certificate of award was accompanied by a letter from the, president of the American Christian Heritage Foundation, Robert Pit tenger, and Tom Landry, Dallas Cowboys’ coach, who is on-ithe foundation's Advisory Board. In being named "Ambassador For Christ,” the letter encouraged Rev. Thompson to continue her efforts in spreading God’s Word. . The letter also encouraged her to pfay for the following: pray that Christians and government will wit ness for Christ and live holy lives; pray for outreach ministry in Bible study to help reach and disciple new believers in Jesus Christ; and, finally, to pray Tor- the openness to the Gospel as our leaders recognize their personal needs in Christ and His direction in governing the affairs of this country. -In the New Testament, Paul re-. ferred to himself as an ambassa dor in Ephesians 6:20 - “For which I am an ambassador in bonds;' that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” -From- the Noah’s Ark Outreach Ministries, Rev. Thompson is also seeking to speak about God. As host of the ministry’s broadcast each Family Brunch The Annual Family Brunch of the Massey-Fulson family was held De cember 25 at 10 a.m. at the Holiday Inn - North Tryon. About 35 local family members were present to enjoy grits, ham, eggs, sausage, toast and jelly and breakfast beverages. Out of town relatives, the Andrade Family from Baltimore, Md., also came. They are the grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jones Jr. and the great grands of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Massey, who were also hosts of the brunch. The brunch became an annual event about 20 years ago when the late Juanita Massey Jetter started it. Mrs. Thompson has also been asked by the Lady Ministers Fel lowship International to contact ladies interested in joining. The purpose of the fellowship is to encourage females in the ministry and to promote fellowship between female missionaries, evangelists, reverends and pastors in the world.
