Isaiah Tidwell .Senior vice president National Magazine Features Tidwell Isaiah Tidwell of Winston-Salem is featured in'the February issue of The Crisis, the magazine of the National Association for the Ad vancement of Colored People. Tidwell appears in a “Portfolio of Black Managers in Corporate Ame rica" in the special issue dedicated to blacks who “through their con tributions to their companies are demonstrating that competence, qualification, ability and creativity have no color or sex." Tidwell is senior vice president and regional loan administration manager for Wachovia Bank and Trust Company’s Northwest Re gion, which includes Winston Salem, Hickory, Merganton, Statesville, Valdese, Lexington and Taylorsville, plus the western sec tion of Virginia and West Virginia. A native of Charlotte, Tidwell graduated from North Carolina Cen tral University in 1987 and earned a master’s degree from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University in 1900. He joined Wachovia in Charlotte fas 1972 and became a commercial loan officer in 1973. He assumed Ms current position in 1902. Tidwell and his wife, HeUena, have two sons. Mrs. Tidwell is director of sponsored programs at Winston-Salem State University. Druid Hills Club At the most recent meeting at the Druid Hills Garden Club, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto guest for the evening was Mrs. Marilyn Pride from the Public Li brary. Mrs. Pride presented gardening films far the meeting- The films “Planting and Transplanting,’' and “Drying Flowers and Arrange ments," were certainly eye-openers for all the club members present A question and answer period followed the films and the members learned many interesting things about flowers they were not previously aware of. The members were excit ed about the new information gained and are ready to try out many at the novel ideas as soon as tbMf flowers are in bloom Also included during the meeting was a devotional period handled by Mrs. Sophease Blackmon. President of the club, Mrs. Lois Love spoke on old and new business. Afterwards the hostess, Mrs. Otto Long, served a delicious sit-down meal. The following members were present: Mrs. Inez Ellis, Mrs. Queen Ellis, Mrs. Minnie Connor. Mrs. Della Simmons, Mrs. Sadie English, Mrs. Hattie McCree, Mrs. Lois Love, Mrs. Sophease Blackmon, Mrs. Ha zeline Long and Mrs. Eva Wiley.
