Anti-Apartheid Vigil Planned For April 24 Charlotteans will hold an anti apartheid vigil Wednesday, April 24, near the uptown Marriott beginning at 10 a.m. A teach-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Park at the Square. Charlotteans For a Free South Africa, a locally based group of churches, community and service organizations, and university facul ty and students, have planned the vigil and teach-in in an effort to increase local awareness of and opposition to South Africa’s apar theid policies. The date of the vigil-teach-in has been planned to coincide with the NCNB Bank stockholders' meeting which will begin at the uptown Marriott at u a m., Wedneeday, April 24. NCNB is one of the major U.S. investors in South Africa and for years has been the subject of much public criticism for its in volvement in South Africa. Many stockholders plan to introduce a resolution in the meeting calling for NCNB to end all new loans and Investments In South Africa.
