Each year the Ebenezer Baptist
Church hosts a sparkling revival
with spiritual music, prayer, teach
ing and preaching. This year is no
different from the past except in one
respect.
Equal emphasis will be placed on
both evangelism and revivalism.
There will be something for every
one in the light of spiritual en
lightenment.
“This revival has a bilateral
tune,” stated Rev. A. B. Sutton Sr.,
revival host and pastor of Ebenezer
Baptist Church, located at 733 Trade
St. “We plan to revive the church
members and evangelize and wit
ness to the unsaved.”
Rev. Frank Ray, pastor of New
Salem Baptist Church of Memphis,
TN, will be the guest speaker May
20-24,7 p.m. nightly.
A great preacher and recording
artist Rev. Sutton had nothing but
praise for the gifts Rev. Ray has
received from God. “He has three
special gifts,” Rev. Sutton added,
“he is a singer, preacher and pray
er.”
Many of his talents have filtered
down to his son, Frank Sr. At 19
years of age he has already realized
his calling into the ministry. He is
presently minister of music at New
Salem Baptist in Tennessee.

feature night devotion services by
various hymn choirs of the city.

each night as well.

special service for Mrs. Reid also featured inspirational reading by Roy
Henderson and a solo by Harry EseO. Mrs. Reid’s daughter, Joan
Antrum, son-in-law. Charles Antrum, sister, Geneva Lindsay, and many

Volunteers Needed

The Senior Center, 426 N. Tryoo
St., wants to start a telephone re
assurance program for shut-ins. A
volunteer leader and a group of
callers are needed. Call 334-3053 for
more information or to volunteer.
Other volunteer opportunities for
older residents include a variety of
tasks at the Senior Center, from
teaching a class to helping with
refreshments or monthly mailings.
