'• TWs year, The Charlotte Post and Coca Cola Joined forces to present a special news supplement, saluting Coca Cola and its work ers. Now in their latest venture Coca Cola has cost for the Post’s annual banquet that traditionally closes out the activities of the WPEG-Eastern Air lines-Winn-Dixie Post sponsored “Churchwork er of the Year” contest. According to uaesar Wal lace, Urban Affairs Direc tor at Coca Cola, his com pany has taken this step in an effort to heighten their visibility in the black com munity. “Coke has a desire to become more visible in the Mack community and to make a worthwhile and viable contribution there. We feel that getting in volved in the Church work er of the Year contest is one of the better ways to achieve our goals.” Wallace also noted that Coca Cola has watched the Post’s growth over the years and has felt that with the citywide attention that the “Churchworker of the Year” coo test has gar nered, it was time to get involved in this worthwhile CAESAR WALLACE .~Urban affair* director campaign. “We (Coca Cola) are pleased to join WPEG-FM, Eastern Airlines and Winn Dixie as co-sponsors of the ‘Churchworker of the Year’ contest,’’ Wallace stated. While good community relations are of an im portance to Coca Cola, Wallace added that the company is particularly concerned about its rela tions in the black com munity. “I feel that our relationship could be better in the black community and Coca Cola is working hard to strive to do better in that respect,” stressed Wallace. As Wallace pointed out most of the company's projects are ongoing en deavors. “We are actively involved with Black His tory Month, Eastern Air lines Black Caucus.
