Shiloh Celebrates Anniversary And

Appreciation For Rev. And Mrs. Davis

The Shiloh Institutional Baptist
Church family will celebrate their
eigtyh anniversary and appreciation
day for their pastor and family, Rev.
and Mrs. Tommy Q. pavis,
beginning with a pre-anniversary
and appreciation concert on
Saturday, July 6 at 7 p.m.
The McCullough Notes Choir of the
United House of Prayer will render
this year’s concert. Nationally
known as one of the finest gospel
church choirs in the country, the
McCullough Notes Choir is in great
demand to perform and has sung
in many religious functions
throughout the eastern states.
Along with the McCullough Choir, «
Shiloh institutional JA. Choir will
render several selections at the
beginning of the concert.
Under the direction of Tommie
! Campbell, this choir also has.
, established' itself 'as a most able
* choir whose venality in music has
thrilled the hearts of many during
.' the past several yean.
.. The celebration will continue with
the regular Sunday morning worship
, service July 7. Immediately
following morning service a
fellowship dinner will be served in
the Fellowship Hall of the church for
all members and friends of Shiloh
institutional.

; the eighth anniversary and the
; appreciation worship service at 4
. P-m. Rev. Albert Davis, the pastor of
the Solid Rock Baptist Church and
his congregation will be the guest
speaker.
Assuming the pastorate of Shiloh
; in July 1977, Rev. Davis has shown
his ability to successfully lead a
• congregation and his strong
!■ commitment to the Christian cause.
; A jovial, gregarious and intelligent
v individual, Rev. Davis shies away
I from publicity and is modest about
j his many accomplishments since his
; arrival at Shiloh.
Among many of his achievements
are the doubling of membership,
paying off the mortgage of the
'edifice at 206 South Bruns Ave..

CAMPUS MINISTERS
Livingstone College has
announced the appointments of two
local ministers. Rev. Alvin Damon,
pastor of Moore’s Chapel A.M.E.
Zion Church and Rev. James
Samuel, pastor of Soldiers
Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church to
serve as campus ministers. Both are
graduates of Livingstone College.
Rev. Damon completed his
graduate work at Hood Theological
Seminary and Rev. Samuel
completed his graduate work at the
Duke University School of Divinity.
They will (be responsible for the
implementation of the religious life
program-for students at the College.
