Apostle Young Exudes Enthusiasm When He Talks About The United House Of Prayer For All People A young man enthusiasti cally once stated while giv ing a high school Junior Declaration Speech: “I love the American way of life. I must, for it is the only life I know!" Apostle JJL Young exudes that same enthusiasm as he talks about The United. House of Prayer for All People. “This is the greatest or ganization in the world and if you want to be saved, you must come through here!" r To provide proof of his - statement he points to Isaiah 56:7 and Isaiah 2:2, scriptures from the Holy Bible. ' Apostle Young was born in Dallas. N.C., in 1925. His mother and father enrolled him as a member of the House of Prayer in 1928, the year it was brought to Charlotte, N.C., by Bishop C. M. "Daddy” Grace. The first House of Prayer in the city was a tent pitched at the corner of Third St. and Caldwell St. His family moved to Charlotte in 1930 where he attended Char lotte-Mecklenburg public schools. As a dedicated House of Prayer member. Apostle Young has served in many capacities. As a young man he served as a band mem ber at the Mallard Creek Mission House of Prayej-. He was called to be an Elder by Daddy Grace in 1951 and served as Young People’s Pastor at the Mal lard Creek Mission until BWiop Walter McCollough ...Participating in Baptismal immersion ——- v' ■Z'*'- . » - V.^ • » ._ 1959. During one of those years he served as Assist ant Pastor at the Mother House of Prayer in Char lotte, which was located on McDowell St. Apostle Young was appointed Pas tor of the North Carolina Mission House of Prayer in 1999 by Daddy Grace and served in that capacity for 10 years. In 1970, The Mother House of Prayer in Char lotte was relocated from McDowell St. to Beatties Ford Road. He was ap pointed as Assistant Pas tor by Bishop W. “Daddy" McCollough, the present day leader of The United House of Prayer for All People. He was later ele vated to the level of Apostle By Daddy McCollough and is serving in that capacity at the present. Apostle J.R. Young and his wife, Vera, have been blessed with five children. They are: Vera A. Young, Sarah I. Young, James E. Young, Robert F. Young, and Floyd L. Young. All reside in Charlotte and all attend the House of Prayer. Apostle J.R.
