Church New* Bn Tabemac Be By Jalyne Strong Peat Staff Writer Rev. C. David Stack home, pas tor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, will be ordained Sunday, November 3. The ordination service will take place at Tabernacle, located at 1135 Redbud St., at 7 p.m. Rev. Tommy Davis of Shiloh Institutional Bap tist Church will be guest speaker and he will be accompanied by his con gregation and choirs. Rev. Anthony Jinwright, pastor of Salem Baptist, will preside over the ceremony. Installed as pastor of Tabernacle Baptist in August, 1985, Rev. Stackhouse is a young evangelical minister, as well as, a teacher and masterful preacher of the gospel. His educational background in cludes a degree of arts from Clinton Junior College, Rock HOI, S.C.; a B.A. degree from Living stone College, Salisbury, N.C.,; and a master of divinity degree from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, N.C. He is recognized as an Old Testament scholar and re vivalist. Rev. Stackhouse is married to Angela Parker and they have two sons and one daughter. Ministers and friends from all over will be present at the ordina tion of Rev. Stackhouse this Sunday. The public is urged to attend. NEW ST. Mcllwain is pastor. / SEMINARY CENTER The Metrolina Seminary Center, a division of Shaw Divinity School in Raleigh, N.C., is now holding fully accredited theological classes at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 3201 Tuckaseegee Rd., every Tuesday at 7 p.tn. The center offers an 18-unit pro gram (with 18 hours per unit) In such studies as the Bible, Syste matic Theology, Paul’s Letters, New Testament l, 2, and 3, English, and some 40 other courses. This is the only program of theo logical studies in Charlotte that is fully accredited by the' National . Board of Seminaries, and It leads ' toward the master of divinity de gree. Persons holding the advanced diploma are granted membership in the National Alumni organization of the Southeastern Theological Se minary. The local center has 89 _ pastors, ministers and lay people and expects another 20 by Novem ber. The cost for a full course ranges between $30 to $40.
