Jones Has Interest In Commissioner’s Seat By Russell Clerk IW Staff Writer Now that County Commissioner Bob Walton is finally serving his sentencefor assaulting a Charlotte teenager, the question has surfaced, "who will replace him if he resigns? The Poet has learned that Ced ric Jones is interested in the posi tion if he does. "Legally, he doesn't have to step down, but if ho doesn't, ha will be ignored by the board when he tries to get a propo sal passed," says Jones, a former educate As a 60-year-old native of Gar ner, he ran at large for County Commissioner in the Novem benpbtr in District 2.
