Church Newt Brief* Greater Charlotte Community Chorale Sponsors Annual Workshop/Seminar The Greater Charlotte Commu nity Chorale will sponsor its an nual Workshop/Berninar in ob servanee of its 9th anniversary celebration beginning Wednes day, February 4, continuing throu^i Sunday, February 8. Visiting guest will be the noted composer-writer for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc., David L. Allen. John P. Kee, composer-writer for the Greater Charlotte Community Chorale, will assist. The five-day event will include two-day registration, an annual Consecration 8ervice, a Work shop Choir Mini-Concert. Fea tured on Saturday, February 7 at 8 p.m. will be The Ambassadors For Christ in concert and on Sun day, February 8 at 3:30 p.m., The Greater Charlotte Community Chorale and New Life Communi ty Choir will be in concert. Opened in 1078, the center is sponsored by the Southern Bap tist Convention. Most classes are held out of Shaw Divinity School Raleigh, N.C. and all courses are ftilly accredited. Grades are kept and issued out of Raleigh, N.C. Cost for the full Winter course of study including books, materi special services, teachers and classroom is only $35. OLIVE Rev. Max B. .Mcllwain, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, will begin a series of sermons on the Christian family starting on Sunday, February 1. "The series should run through March," projects Reu Mcllwain. "There are a great number of hard questions to be addressed. In our days of high divorce rates, people need to know what the Bible says about the family." \ The series will deal with fami ; ly problems by referring to a col lection of quotations from the Bible. The following topics will be discussed: The institution of marriage by God. How wives were choeen in the early Hebrew days. The responsibility of the husband. The responsibility of the wife. The responsibility of the children. The responsibility of the parents. Divorce. Marriage after divorce. Choosing a wife or husband. "If you have questions about any of the above topics, you need to hear this series," states Rev. Mcllwain. All are welcome to attend. Mt. FAITH CME The 8unday School Department of Faith CME Church will present an interesting and informative film about rock music on Satur day, January 81, at 5:30 p.m. The film, titled, "Rock—-It's Your Decision," presents the Christian argument against rock music in a clear and uncompro mising manner. It focuses on the philosophy and lifestyle of the people involved in rock and gives the Biblical basis for opposition to this type of music. The film will appeal to both par ents and young people. Admis sion is free. ' Also, at Faith CME on Sunday, February 1, at 4 p.m., the Ste wardess Board will sponsor its annual Stewardess Day. Rev.
