Church Nei„s BnA Moore Honored At Oak Grove By LaShun Lawson "The Fires of Determination* will be the theme for a program in honor of Miss. Marilyn Moore, a senior at Myers Park High School. Since entering kinder garten Marilyn has not missed a day of school and she has contin ued to maintain a B average. Marilyn is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and she will be honored on June 6th at 3:00 for her achievements. The members of Oak Grove invite you to come out and join in this cele bration. Rev. Mack L. McRae is the pastor. ST. PAUL Trina Alexander age 22, was crowned Miss St. Paul for 1987. Trina is the youngest person to ever receive this title. Trina is the daughter of Prentice and Joee phene Alexander. She is an Teachers Aid at Paw Creek Ele mentary School. Trina is a very active member St. Paul Baptist Church, she is a assistant Girl Scout leader, member of the Mu sical Choir and the Deciples of Christ. Trina explained that she was very surprised to receive this award but she looks forward to representing St. Paul. Rev. Paul Drummond is the pastor. LITTLE CHURCH The Little Church on The Lane Moravian Church will hold ita evening Vacation Bible School June 7 through June 12. The ses sions will run daily from 7a.m. to 9p.m. Classes include music, crafts and bible study. The class es are availble for pre-school to high school age children and there will be two classes for adults. This year's theme will be "Hallelqjah! Jesus' is King." LUTHERAN CHURCH "Come Share the Spirit" will be the theme for the 183rd conven tion of the North Carolina 8ynod of the Lutheran Church in Ameri ca, to be held May 29th at Lencir Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina. The L:utheran Synod will conclude its life as a mem ber of the Lutheran Church in America. On May 30th the Luthe ran Church in America, the American Lutheran Church and the Association of Evangelical Lutherans will constitute them selves to form the new North Car olina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. PAUL "Por Kids Sake" will be the name of a program sponsored by St. Paul Baptist Church, located at 1401 North Allen Street, Dr. Paul Drummond, Pastor. The pro gram will be for ldd'e ages 5-11 years.
