"The regional meetinga are held bi-ahnually and come on the years opposite to our Grand Boule'. The first one was held in Columbia, SIC. in 1981, Richmond, VA. in 1983 and Memphis , Tsnn. in 1985. Among Blacks, Sigma Pi Phi is the oldest Greek letter society in America. It was founded in 1904 in Philadelphia, Pennsylva nia by a small group of profes sional men, for the purpose of pro viding "men like qualities" !and opportunity for close fellowship in an atmosphere of mutual respect and relaxing comaraderie. The fraternity has broadened it# interest from being a purely eoeial organisation to includa a vital social action program. Last May, the Beta Delta Boule spon sored h workshop and awards ceremony at J.C. Smith but only invited outstanding mala stu dents. "We are looking Inward to branching out and honoring both males and females because that ie the overall purpose of the Fraternity," Stroud explains.
