McDowell St.). Sponsored by Woman- Reach, Inc., the all day event will focus on the theme 'Women Do Have Choices: Crisis in Self-Im age." The seminar, which begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m., costs $20 (late registration after October 20 Is $25). The fee Is partially tax deductible and In cludes fruit, coffee, tea and a buffet lunch. Free parking Is available with handicapped ac cessibility. Luncheon keynoter, Doris Cromartle, of Duke Power Is a former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for women-owned business development during the Hunt Administration. She won this year's Women's Elquall- ty Day Award. Her topic Is "Role Models and Mentors.” At 2 p.m., there will be a panel discussion on Self-Image in the Media examining "The Personal vs. the Public Image." Panelists include WPCQ's morning news anchor Beatrice Thompson: WBIVs 'Top o' The Day co-host Lynne Bradley-Love, WSCO- TVs weekend news anchor Su zanne Stevens and WCCB's Public Affairs Director Charlene Price. Other speakers and their top ics Include Lily Sang, human services specialist, "Women Helping Women in Crisis and Transition;" Laura McClettle, entrepreneur, "Self-Image and Networking;” and Linda Combs- Shepherd, psychotherapist. "Self-Image and the Female Spirit." Joan Tillotson of the Health and Physical Education Department of UNCC will con duct body movement exercises throughout the day and Brandy wine Books will hold a book fair during each break. WomanReach's 5th Annual "Paint Your Own Rainbow" s}mi- poslum will provide a forum for women to participate In dia logue about self-image and how It Impacts women's lives. The program has been designed to offer an opportunity for Interac tion, inspiration, learning and fun. The symposium is spon sored by Duke Power, Harris Teeter, The Mallory Corporation and Midtown Square. WomanReach, Inc. Is a United Way organization that is cur rently celebrating a decade of women helping women. Wo manReach provides free peer counseling and other support services to women coping with change, stress or who are sim ply exploring options for effec tiveliving. YMCA Classes For School Holidays The McCrorey YMCA, 3801 Beatties Ford Road, will provide a fun-fllled, educational experi ence for your children, Novem ber 7, 8 & 11, 1988, when the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools are on holiday. This program will operate 7:00 AM-6:00 PM each day. Advanced registration Is required. Registration dead line Is November 2, 1988. Activi ties will Include games, movies, story telling, swimming, value sessions, snacks and on Tues day, November 8th., a trip to the South Carolina Zoo, Columbia, S. C. at a cost of $9.50, per per son on a chartered bus. The cost of the Fun Days Is: $3.00 per day for After-School Members, $8.00 per day for McCrorey Y members and $16.00 per day for non members. Or a discount price of $19.00 per 3 days for m mibers and $38.00 per 3 days lor non members. Children should wear play clothes, tennis shoes and bring towel, swim suit and limch each day.
