Page 14A - THE CHARLOTTE POST - Thursday, February 2, 1989 'Moonlight Over Charlotte' Stirs City Celebrate Mardl Gras In a spe cial way at "Moonlight Over Charlotte", the third annual par ty to benefit the American Can cer Society on February 18, 1989 from 9:00 p.m, until 1:00 a.m. at Cltyfalr. The black tie or costume Mardl gras party will light up Cltyfalr after the merchants close down, and will feature food, drink, dancing, and a special silent auction. The $35 ticket price In cludes an open bar, a Cajun buf fet (with food flown In from New Orleans especially for the event) and music by Brice Street. Jazz singer Daryl Rice will make a special appearance. Party-goers can bid on several silent auction prizes throughout the night. Including original art, gifts and services. Basketball fans will have a special chance to bid on autographed balls from the Charlotte Hornets, the University of North Carolina, and Duke. Fat Tuesday's Is catering the buffet, which will feature Jamba- laya, shrimp etouffee, crawfish, and a special frozen drink from that popular bar. Acquired Tastes Catering will supplement their offering with crudites and special coffees. Juvenile age readers will find biogra phies on Bill Cosby, Olympian Carl Lewis, and George Wash ington Carver Inspirational and entertaining.
