A'Wamer Bros. Records artist, who first attracted attention via Prince's feature film debut "Purple Rain," ApoUonia was subsequently signed as a regular on the prime time soap "Falcon Crest." (AP) — Activist A1 Sharpton has renewed his ef forts on behalf of James Brown, urging supporters of the impris oned singer to attend Brown's trial next month on charges of driving under the Influence. Hayes Stands Accused Of Owing Too Much ATLANTA (AR — Describing the amount of his past due ali mony and child support as "ridiculous and almost beyond belief," Sujjerlor Court Judge Philip F. Etheridge Jailed soul singer Isaac Hayes until he comes up with some cash. The Judge found Hayes was $346,300 behind In his pay ments and said he must come up with $22,000 as a down payment to win his release. Etheridge told Hayes that his former wife has been evicted twice, has lost her car through foreclosure and can't afford the basic necessities for herself and their two children. Meanwhile, Hayes "continues to exist, to travel and live In an appropriate manner," Etheridge said. "Something Is drastically wrong," he told Hayes. Hayes, 50, who lives In Mariet ta, told the Judge he has been fi nancially strapped and has not been able to schedule enough performances to make the amount of money he needs to meet his obligations.
