He attended Benedict Col lege In Columbia, S.C. during his freshman year and transferred to Zion College In Chattanooga, Tenn. where he received his B.S. Degree. From there he entered the J. J. Stark School of Theolo gy, Benedict College, Columbia, S.C.where he received his B.D. Degree In 1961. In 1971 he re ceived an honorary D.D. Degree from the Birmingham Baptist Bible College In Birmingham, Alabama and the Honorary L.L.D. Degree from Selma Uni versity in Sehna, Alabama.
