ing scholarship applications from
college-bound students.
Scholarships will be awarded in
the amounts of $250 and $500. To
be eligible for a scholarship, candi
dates must be college -bound high
school seniors enrolled at a four-
year college for the 1996-97 school
year, majoring in chemistry, busi
ness, or engineering with a mini
mum 3.0 grade average. Two let
ters of recommendation are also
required. Applications must be
postmarked by April 15,1996. For

The 1997 Miss North Carolina
USA and the 1997 Miss North
Carolina Teen USA Pageant is
now accepting applications. The
competition will consist of evening
gowns, swimsuits and interview
sessions. There is no performing
talent required. Interested ladies
must be between the ages of 18
and 27 on or before Feb. 1, 1997 to
enter. Interested women should
