RELIGION/ The Charlotte Post June 13, 1996 The Prophet’s Column This is a paid advertisement by J.M. Littie UNTHANKFULNESS ABOUNDS EVERYWHERE” We are living in perilous times, friend! Christ is coming soon. From the youngest to the oldest, this generation is unthankful. America hais been blessed abun dantly, but America is unthank ful! There is coming a day, not too distant in the future, when God is going to cut off the material bless ings that He has bestowed upon this nation. And He is also going to withdraw the Gospel. The Gpspel is still going out across this nation, but one day God is going to stop it. He has given this nation space to repent, but she refuses to repent! Christ said in Luke 13:3; “..except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.” I have no patience with the indi vidual who says that repentance is not for us today. The soul who has not repented is not saved and is unthankful. You can’t repent toward God and remain unthank ful. The bom again believer is a thankful soul. I’m constantly thanking the Lord for saving such a hell-deserving sinner as I ^un. What about you? The soul who has seen his total depravity imder the awakening of the blessed Holy Spirit is a thankful soul. Show me a soul who is imthank- ful and Fll show you em unsaved soul. Oh, the tragedy of unthank fulness! If you knew Christ, you couldn’t help but be thankful. Listen, friends, this generation is gone, the churches are gone. We’ve never lived in a day like we are living in now. I warn you to flee to Christ. You only Hope is Christ. In the face of all the hatred of Satan and his emis saries, if I didn’t know Christ I’d go under. I couldn’t live without Christ. Sadly, souls are being hardened more and more. “Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and rev elation of the righteous judgment of God;” Romans 2:4-5). It is the goodness of God that leads a sin ner to repentance, but the soul who has a hard heart is laying up wrath for himself at the judgment bar of God. God is going to call him in to give account. Remember the account in Luke 17 about the ten lepers. How many were thankful? Just one That’s right, just one turned back and gave the glory to God. We are living in a time now when men are so hard hearted that you could save a per son’s life by pulling them out of the fire or a watery grave and later they would curse you to your face. This generation is headed for hell. Gratitude, like compas sion, is a very rare article today. Do you ever think about it like that? Finding a soul who is thankful is as hard as finding a soul who is saved. I believe the Lord’s Coming is so near that He could come any minute. My ciy is come quickly Lord Jesus. What is your cry? I’ll leave you with that. GALILEE BAPTIST CHURCH Rev. F.A.
