Anderson preaches first sermon Charlotte native Edward Moses Anderson Sr. preached his initial sermon last Sunday at New Ford Baptist Church in Danburg, Ga. New Ford is the home church of his mother, Veola Cofer Anderson and his late grandfather, Deacon Charlie Cofer. Anderson is the second oldest of nine chil dren. Anderson and graduated from the Charlotte public school system and from N.C. Anderson A&T State Univrsity with a bachelors in economics. He was awarded a regular army commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S.Army in 1968. He was also assigned as an armored cavalry platoon leader in Viet Nam, where he was decorated for heroism in combat. Anderson attended law school at N.C. Central University School of Law in Durham. He practiced law for 21 years in the Army. He has had a lifetime inter est in theology and Christian education. He studied at Shaw Divinity School in Raleigh, and graduated from the Interdenominational Theology Center in Atlanta with a master’s of in Christian education in 1994. • Time Warner Cable and the Charlotte Community Television Awards Committee presented Maggie Nicholson with the Outstanding Single Program Talk Show Award.
