“Sister Sister” a waste of time.
•j The story revolves around two
- ^ters, Valerie and Inda, who are
t ■ both dealing with the end of rela-
i tionships. Valerie’s husband
L decides after almost 10 years,
I that she is not the women for him.
I Tbe storyline could work, but
‘ Dickey doesn’t tell us enough
’ about it to make us care about
' Valerie or her sniveling husband.
I Inda meets Chiquita with whom
I she unknowingly shared
Raymond, a three timing brotha
I who can’t seem to decide exactly
I who or what he wants.
I Once again, the story line isn’t
; well presented. While the action
I is hot-women climbing balconies
I to look into men’s windows (don’t
■ lask) - it still isn’t enough to make
I ifou want to read to the end.
i i ♦Dickey does add one “good”
brotha. Valerie and Inda’s hand
some if not homeboyish brother
Thaddeus. Thaddeus could be lik
able but once again Dickey does
n’t give us enough for us to care
whether he lives or dies.
I guess I expected too much. I
hoped since Dickey was a man,
he would give us at least one
male character that was well
rounded. I hoped perhaps he
would tell us what men are think
ing.
Instead, he did exactly what
everyone else does. And he didn’t
even do it well.
Particularly irritating are his
awkward attempts to get inside
his characters’ heads. At best his
work is weak. At worst, just plain
boring.
Dickey tries to exhale, but
somehow only manages a sigh.
