This project consists of installation of plant material including the
installation of street trees, ground cover, and seeding and mulching and
the removal of trees and shrubs.
Contract documents, including Drawings and Technical specifications,
are in the Engineering & Property Management Department at 600 E.
Fourth Street, the local A.G.C. office, and the Dodge Plan Room.
Copies of the documents may be obtained by paying $50.00 to the City
of Charlotte for each set of documents. If purchasing documents by
mail, envelopes should be addressed to the City Engineering &
Property Management Department, 600 E. Fourth Street, 14th Floor,
Charlotte, NC 28202, ATTENTION: Customer Service Desk
Bid Security - If the bid does not equal or exceed $100,000, a bid
security is not required. A bid security in the amount of five percent-
(5%) of the contract sum will be submitted with each bid. The bid
security will'be in the form of cash, a cashier’s check or a certified
check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit
Insurance Corporation made payable to the order of the City of
Charlotte. In lieu of making a cash deposit, the bidder may submit a
bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed in North Carolina to
execute such bonds.
Contractor’s License - The City of Charlotte requires that all
contractors performing landscaping work be registered with N.C.
Landscape Contractors Registration Board in accordance with chapter
89-D of the N.C. General Statutes.
Drug Free Workplace - -The City has adopted a policy requiring City
construction and service contractors to provide a drug-free workplace
in the performance of any City contract.
Bidders will ensure that employees and applicants for employment are
not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex,
national origin, disability, or veteran’s status.
Bids may be held by the City of Charlotte for a period not to exceed
sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of
reviewing bids and investigating qualifications of bidders. The City
also reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive
informalities or technicalities as it may deem to be in its best interest.
The proposal form provided by the City of Charlotte will be used and
will not be taken apart or altered. All bids will be placed in a sealed
envelope having the Bidder’s name, address. North Carolina General
Contractor’s License Number, and the above statement “BID FOR
LANDSCAPE PACKAGE #2”. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL ‘TUESDAY,

The City of Charlotte will be requesting Bids for Grounds Maintenance
Services at the Oaklawn/Pinewood Cemeteries in Charlotte, North
Carolina. The work will include, but not necessarily be limited to the
folio-wing:
Turf Maintenance
Removal of leaves during the months of October - January
Removal of trash and debris
Mulching
Pruning
Control of unwanted vegetation
Spring Cleanup
Contractors are advised that Bids will only be considered or accepted
from those firms who have submitted evidence that they possess the
ability, experience, and resources necessary to perform the work
involved and have been certified by the City as pre-qualified for
bidding on the particular project. Failure to become pre-qualified for
