Amnesty’s various regional offices are being asked to study whether to end the group’s official “neutral” stance on abortion. In its place, the group could declare access to abortion a human right in specific cases includ ing rape and life-threatening pregnancy complications. The proposals — growir^ out of Amnesty’s campaign to stop violence against women — also include wheUier to sup port legal access to contracep tion. Few places, including the United States, appear ready for an u^p or down vote on the matter. Instead, the discus sions so far have been gener al, noncommittal arid pas sionate. In New Zealand, Amnesty’s local director, Ced Simpson, said there have been “strongly held views on both sides of the debate.” A final decision could come at Amnesty’s next interna tional gatiiming - in Mexico in August 2007. But the Amnesty statement said “much dep^ids on the out comes” of the current debates in various countries. If there’s agreement that the abortion rightfl proposal has support, it could either be adopted by consensus or put to a formal vote. Otherwise, it could be dropped or sent back for more discussions. Little, Teacher We are living in such a materialistic age today that any thought of Hell is resolved virith atheism. But 1 vi/ant to tell you, my friends: Hell is a living reality, just as Heaven is a living reality. And your atheism does not in any way do away with the truth of a literal Hell. There are two souls on the face of this earth who know there is a Hell: first, the bornagain believer and second, the awakened sinner, if you do not believe God’s Word about Hell, you are not in either of these two classes. First, as a bornagain believer, I know there is a Hell because I’ve been delivered from it. And before Christ was revealed to my heart, the blessed Holy Spirit opened my heart and let me see just a little of the hell on the backside of my heart. Let me give you a truth in passing: if you could see what is on the backside of your old wicked and totally depraved heart, you’d see a miniature hell there. Have you ever seen it? If not. you are not saved! Not one of the writers of the Bible tried to prove the existence of Hell. They simply declared the truth about Hell as they were inspired by the Holy Ghost. Did you know there are some 54 Verses in the Bible directly talking about Hell? Never thought about that, did you? And let me pause in this study to say that when you come across the term “Holy Ghost" in the Scriptures, the reference is to the “Holy Spirit". The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity. And you do not have to be afraid to use the term “Holy Ghost”. I know the love of the Father, the Redemption of the Son. and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. No, I do not vyorehip three Gods. Just One. All Three are One. One in essence, but Three in Personality. In this study, I am not trying to prove the reality of Hell to any man. You can deny Hell all you want to. Your atheism will not keep you out of Hell. You just wait “til you wake up in Hell. You won’t deny it then. Now let’s look at some Scriptures which God sets forth in His word about Hell. The first I call your attention to is Deut. 32:22: “For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.” In connection with this reference, read II Pet. 3 and weep.
