7B RELIGION/Xee Ciattotte Tuesday, November 21, 2006 Travelers advised to be prepared for holiday air travel THE ASSOCIATED PRESS WASHINGTON-Airlines say liieyre prepared for an onslaught of Thanksgiving travelers who may not know that big bottles of shampoo, mouthwash and hairspray are banned fix)m carryon lug gage. New restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols in carryon bags have caused longer secu rity lines at 'major airports such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Chicago’s O’Hare Inter national Ahport- With 25 million passengers escpected during the 12-day Thanksgiving travel period, airlines are gearing up for travelers unfamiliar with the, rules. ' ‘We’re ready to go,” James May president of the Air Transport Association, said Thursday ‘We know we’ve got 25 million people coming ” The Transportation Securi ty Administration now only allows liquids, gels and aerosols in 3-oimce containers or less. They must be con tained in one quart-sized zip- top clear plastic bag. Passen gers must take the bag out of their carryon luggage at secu rity checlqx)ints. “This is not comphcated,” said TSA chief Kip Hawley in a news conference held with airline and airport spokespeo- ple to remind travelers of the new restrictions. Passengers sometimes aren’t sure if a substance is a sohd or not. Hawley offered this advice; “If you dump it out on the table and it retains its form, it’s not a hquid, aerosol or gel.” The roles were put in place in September, after British police broke up a ten-orist plot to blow up as many as 10 trans-Atlantic flights using liquid explosives. Tb accommodate the Thanksgiving crush, the TSA is opening secmity check points eai'her and fully staffing them. Mt. Little, Teacher Just yesterday we funeraiized my first cousin, deacon Ray T, Byrd. Of all those speakers on the program, not one told how God saves a poor, lost, hell-deserving sinner. As I have often said: “I can’t teach what I don’t know. And I can’t lead where I haven’t been." Those speakers could not tell how God saves a poor, lost hetl-deserving sinner because they don’t know Christ. I don’t care how many truths a preacher can preach or a BlWe teacher can teach. If that man does not know Christ, he cannot tell a sinner how God saves a sinner! A saved preacher and a lost preacher can preach from the same pulpit, A saved teacher and a lost teacher can teach from the same pulpit. The Little, Byrd, (Saddy and Ratliff families are full of preachers and Bible teachers. I can count on one hand the number that can tell a sinner how God saves a sinner and have almost five fingers left. I know that makes you family members mad when 1 say faat. You have a name to live but you are deadi!!! Of all faese preachers, deacons and Bible teachers in these families that I have listened to, not one has told how the Holy Spirit awakened him to their lost condition. Not a one. Now, I’m giving you somefaing to think about even though you disagree with your cousin. I sat there yesterday (Nov. 4,2006) at the funeral for my cousin and wept You church folks don’t even know you have souls. You are blindly following a goat down to a devil’s hell. ‘BRETHREN, my hearts desire arKi prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.* (Rom. 10:1) Kenneth, why was the Apostle Paul here praying for the salvation of his Jewish brothers? Why do I pray for the salvation of my wusins? Have you ever thought about this? Let's allow our brother, who was the greatest representative the Lord ever had on earth, tell us why he was praying for the salvation of the Jewish brothers: 'For I bear them record ffiat they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledoe. For they belrta ignorant of God’s righteousness, and ooina about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.* (Rom. 10:2-3) RADIO ; 1370 AM jAAJKy 94.7 FM 1490 AM The Best Variety of Christian Music in the Carolina & Georgia Rejoynetwork.com THE NEW AND IMPROVED WGIV 1370 AM Grand Opening Celebration New Programs, New Eocation Saturdy, December 2,2006 12PM - 3PM 9349 China Grove Church Rd.
