We regret to learn the illness of Miss Helen's mother was the cause of her returning sooner than she intended. A burglar entered the poet office at Emporia. Ta., a few nights ago, bored a hole near the combination, broke the lock of the safe, procured three registered, packages, $ 195.00 in cash and stamps, and has not been detected. It appears to have been the work of an expert. Joe Blacker, a Jewish pedler, was attacked on the road in this vicinage last Friday evening by a slick black colored dirty looking tramp, pelted with rocks and bealea with a stick (untif doubtless the robber thought dead) and robbed of a purse contain ing five or mx dollars. After the robber and would be murderer left the place Mr. Blacker recovered strength enough to get to a colored man's house near by, who aided him in getting to Mr. Charlie Shaw's where he was cared for. pr.
