Sincerely, Fannie This past week which left our campus covered with a blanket ct' snow has shown that our grounds can be as beautiful in the winter as they are during the warmer weather. Along with the snow came a new addition to our cam pus in the form of "Frosty’’, the snowman, W'ho was erected cn the pedestal at the foot of the froitt steps by the girls from the second floor. Incidentally, -‘Frosty ’ was the last visible monument to re mind us of the infrequent event. —0— After spending- a short while in the Roanoke-Chowan HospHal to have her appendi.x removed, Peg gy Denton is back amon^' our s udent body as cheerful and live ly as ever. 'We all missed Feggy and since she couldn’t visit us, many students stopped in to see her while she was recovering. It is a motion picture projector with full attachments and equipment and it is a gift from the Riddick sisters of Raleigh whose motner was a Chowan graduate. Mr. Con nelly is training Colon Jackson and Tommy Umphle.E to run the projector. He is securing many films to show and says that with in a few weeks ,we shall be en joying them. —0— Miss Dorothy Ballinger and Vir ginia 'Wellons attended the Bal let De Russe performed at the Mosque in Richmond Saaurday. o— Six 'students traveled to Severn lasti Tuesday night to put on a program'of entertainment for the Severn P. T. A. Those who went were James Gilliken, Ruth Tay lor, Lona 'Worrell Lib-Slate Eiicn Downs Jay 'Wilcox Charles Tuck er and John Long, Mr. Bunn and Miss Ballinger accompanied the group. There were trumpet solos, duets, choral selections and a skit in the program. Mr. Bunn gave a short talk. After the pro gram the group was received br Mrs, J. A., 'Women’s Judici ary, and a member of the Chow- anian staff. During her two years at college she has been prsident and social chairman of the BSU, presidert of the Radio Club, secretary of the glee club, and advertising manager of the school paper. He has been president of both his freshman and sopnomore clashes, president of the Lucalion Society, chairman of the men's judiciary, and all kinds of sports, especially basketball. He is in terested in machinery, mostly the kind that will take him to Roan oke Rapids. His favorile pastime Is listening to the radio.
