Mixon and Mrs. Mixon gave a formal reception September 3, from 8—10 o’clock. I I 'itations were issued to the friends of the College in the sur rounding Baptist Associations. Many citizens of Murfreesboro also attended the gala occasion. The home was beautifully de corated with arrangements of re'I and white roses. Guests were met at the door by Mrs. Roy Parker wife of the Journalism instructor at Chowan. Mrs. Oscar Creech, wife of the Associate to the Presi dent of Chowan, presided at the refreshment table with the wives of the other men of the faculty assisting.
