Some weeks ago Dr. Whitaker re
ceived the letter which follows and
showed it to a CHOWANIAN staff
member. It is so much like a letter
administration and faculty mem
bers would like to receive from
more pa:ents, permission to publish
it was sought and granted:
Dear Dr. Whitaker:
Our son. Charles, has just spent
his first weekend with us and we
wish to tell you this is the happiest
xve have ever seen our son, thanks
to all of you.
Charles had nothing but praise
for Chowan College, the faculty,
students and his courses. Ilis enthu
siasm for his Graphic Arts course
was wonderful to see. All of you are
to lie commended because this just
does not happen. It only comes
from devoted and dedicated people
of high character and we are sure
he will become a finer person from
his association with your fine
school. We already see evidence of
it in this short period.
Please convey our appreciation to
your chaplain for obtaining trans
portation for Charles to attend
Mass.
Thanking you very much, we re
main
Sincerely yours,
