Annual Homecoming Day October 22nd The 1966 Chowan College Homecoming Court NANCY ADAMS PATRICIA GAY BROWER JUDY HANCOCK ANN RUSHMORE DIANA BOYKIN PAMELA HE SHMAN LYNA MARIE PHILLIPS JANET MORRIS PAMELA ROSSER Marching Bands Parade Feature Homecoming Day at Chowan College will feature Miss North Carolina’s an nual appearance, the college’s own beauty and personality contesit winners, outstanding marching bands and drill teams, a sky-diving student who plans to drop in on the festivities, and the gridiron classic between Lees-McRae Bobcats and Chowan’s Braves. Miss North Carolina Miss Nanette Jackson Minor, Miss North Carolina for 1967, who has been featured organist and pianist in con certs and also sang starring roles in opera, will ride a convertible along the route for the Homecoming Parade and be featured during halftime cere monies at the football game, starting at 2 o’clock. She is also scheduled to appear during a pep rally and a stu dent talent contest Friday evening. Chowan College's Homecoming Queen will be crowned during half- time ceremonies at the gridiron clas sic. She will be chosen from the Homecoming Court, previously elected by the student body. Sophomore court members are Nancy Adams, nursing student and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Adams, 1029 Hinton Street, Petersburg, Va.; Patri cia Gay Brower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs- James C. Brower, Route 5, High Point; Judy Lynn Hancock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Hancock, 718 Oak Summit Road, Winston-Salem; Pamela Dee Heishman, daughter of Captain and Mrs. J. C. Heishman, Pen sacola, Fla; Ann Rushmore, daughter of Colonel and Mrs. R. W. Rushmore, 31-A Wright Avenue, Langely Air Force Base, Hampton, Va. Freshman Nominees Freshmen are Diana Boykin, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Boykin, Jr-, 802 North Smithfield Street, Williams- ton; Lyna Marie Phillips, daughter of Mr. and rMs. F. P. Phillips, Faber, Va.; Janet Morris, daughter of Dr. and Mrs- Frank E. Morris, 25 Garrett Drive, Hampton, Va.; Pamela Rosser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Rosser, Jr., 4018 Chesapeake Avenue, Hampton, Va. Dr. Bruce E. Whitiricer, Chowan College President, wilt crown the Homecoming Queen. Jim Wells, 23-yead old ex-Marine, will drop in on pre-game ceremonies by parachute. The sky-diving Chowan student will come down during a lull between performances of the Cava- lettes, girls’ precision marching and drill team from Virginia Beach’s Prin cess Anne High School, the Princessi Anne Marching Band and Virginia Beach’s First Colonial High School Marching Band.
