Marilyn Faye Overstreet of Lumberfon was named
Queen of Spring at the annual Spring Pageant held
February 25th in AAcDowell Columns Auditorium.
Selected as freshman princess was Patricia Diane
Fallis of Norfolk.
Seven coeds comprise the court including four
sophomores: Sherry Davis, AAiss Jenkins Hall; Twyla
Wright, AAiss East Hall; Jenny Wong, AAiss AAixon
Hall; and Debbie Faulkner, AAiss Columns.
The freshman members of the court are Delores
Whedbee, AAiss West Hall; Debbie Vann, AAiss Day
Students; and Nancy Suhre, AAiss East Hall.
AAiss Overstreet, who represented West Hall, is a
graduate of Lumberton High School. AAiss Fallis, AAiss
South Hall, is a Lake Taylor High School graduate.
The queen, princess and court will reign over the
Spring Festival to be held on April 24th.
Judges for the Event
The judges for the annual event were AArs. Janet
Collins, faculty sponsor of the Women's Recreation
Association which sponsored the pageant; Professors
Wes Corbett, and Jane C. Dickie. Three students also
served on the judging board; Linda Woodard,
Women's Council president; Sydney Young, AAen's
Council president; and Linda AAoyer, sophomore, who
is the reigning "AAiss Ahoskie."
Three area resident served as judges also. They
were David Dickie and Joseph Dickerson, both of
AAurfreesboro, and Howard Simmons of Woodland.
