Board of Advisors Hold Semi-Annual Meeting; Hear Good Reports Chowan advisors listen attentively during their recent meeting in the office of President Bruce E. Whitaker. E. L. Hollovi/ell of Edenton, chairman of the "Ac complishing Our Mission" campaign, thanks the advisors for their support in helping the college reach its $2.5 million goal to provide a new gymnasium-physical education center. Gilbert Francis of Boykins, Va., chairman of the Endowment Committee, reports that Chowan now has an endowment of approximately $2 million. He said that while the college has not reached its 1980 endowment goal of $5 million, the college has mode progress and will continue its efforts to increase its endowment. He said endowment support is necessary to help face the challenges of the new decade and beyond.
