A most delightful entertainment was given Friday evening at the Central Ilotel annex, by the Fire side Companion Club, complimen tary to the young lady friends of the Club. Those present were Misses Annie and Addie Rainey, Mabel and Lot tie Tomlinson, Lora and Vera Lyon, Nellie Fuller, Hattie McAUUter, Annie Wall and Pearl jjufce, ian- nie and Grace Mangfum ; Messrs. Mathesonr-Carrollj - Coffio, Craig, G. Lizzie A. E Vader, Rose, Bost, Wbite, lee, Willingham, Davis and Jones. Mrs. Peter Arrington, Mrs. .Tines, and Mr. and Mrs. Lagree were the chaperones. Luncheon in four courses was served at 11 o'clock. A souvenir consisting of a pen and ink sketch representing a fireside scene was presented to each guest. Dr. Joseph Graham, of Ilillsboro. passed through the city this morn ing going to Kaleigh. Mrs. Hampton Fleming left this morning for home in Richmond, Va. , after a visit to relatives in this city. E. C. Hackney left this morning over the Norfolk & Western road for Lynchburg, Va., on a business trip. Col. Jyhn S. Cuningham, of Cuu inerbam. Person county, passed through the city this morning on his way to Kaleigh. Rev. E. R. Leybnrn andT. B. Ful ler. who attended the meeting of the Orange Presbytery, in Rcids- ville, have returned borne. Dr. George T. Winston, president of the Agricultural and Mechanical College, was in the city this morn ing and left for Raleigh on the 9:40 train. Buried in Same Grave; A double burial took- place at Rose of Sharon Baptist church Fri day afternoon, and two young ladies were laid to rest in the same grave. On Thursday night, MisB Fannie Malone passed away of pneumonia, and on Friday morning her sister, Miss Bessie Malone, died of the same disease. Both were daughters of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Malone, of West Durham. The heart-broken parents have the -tender sympathy of all in their dark hours of sorrow and bereavement. Wants to Find tier Husband. A negro woman by the name of Mamie Alexander writes from Lodo, N. C, to Chief of Police J. A. Woodall, inquiring for information concerning her husband, Foster Alexander. She states that he left her sometime ago and she is anxious to hear from him or know where he is. So far as we can ascertain, no one by that name is known here. Tabernacle Services Sunday. The Sunday services at the Tab ernacle will be as follows: Preach ing at 11 a. m., by Rev. A. B. Crumpler,' on "The Second Coming of Christ; at 3:30 p. m., preaching by Mr. Crumpler, on " The Millen ium," and at 7:30 p. m., there will be evangelistic services.
