Mrs. Karl Graetz, who will be remembered here as the former Miss iaa Vivian Weaver, of Chap el Hill, visited Mrs. John M. Cheek last Tuesday. Mrs. Graetz. Who now manes her home in Vir ginia, has spent sometime here in the past and is well-known in Sparta. Mrs. David Higgins underwent an operation at Davis hospital, btatesville, Monday. Blevins, of I Piney Creek, became the bride of Thomas Graham Pugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Pugh, also of Piney Creek in a quiet ceremony at the Mt. Zion Methodist church, Sunday afternoon, August 4, with the Rev. William Crummett and Rev. Worth Sweet officiating, us The couple was attended by the groom’s sisters, Miss Vesta Pugh, of Baltimore, Md., and Miss Velma Pugh, of Washington, D. C. The bride wore a dress of teal blue crepe, with a peplum. The high neckline featured a row of tiny self-covered buttons. Her accessories were white. The bride’s only ornament was an heirloom bracelet belonging to the groom’s mother. Mrs. Pugh is a member of the Clubs To Hold Annual Picnic The Turkey Knob, Rocky Ridge, Elk Creek and Piney Creek home demonstration clubs and the [ Piney Creek Parent-Teachers’ Association will hold a joint an nual picnic at the Piney Creek school on Saturday night, August 17 at 7:30, Mrs. Isom Wagoner, home agent, announced this week. Every member of each club and their husbands and all members of the P-TA are urged to attend the annual picnic. _ :,-ta -_Jt senior class at Piney Creek high I school, where she will graduate i next spring. Mr. Pugh is a graduate of Piney Creek high school with the class of ’42. He served two years in military, 18 months of which was spent overseas.
