Sale Of Feeder Calves Will Be Held Next Month Details Are To Be Announced Next Week; H. D. Ques senberry In Charge West Jefferson — (Special) — Plans are again being worked out for the annual feed calf sale to be held here early next month, H. D. Quessenberry announced yesterday. The definite date as well as other details will be announced next week, Mr. Quessenberry said- Farmers are again remind* ed that this is for good grade fat calves and that scrub calves are not to be handled at this time. In order to get fat calves ready for the sale they should be vac cinated and de-horned if possible. This is not necessary, however, he declared. The sale is being sponsored again because a num ber have asked for it, it was ex plained. Officials of the N. C Extension division will cooperate with the county agent in holding the sale again this year. Topia News Mrs. Flora Larue spent Sunday with her brother, Johnson Lane, at Flat Ridge, Va. Mrs. Mary Deboard, who has been seriously ill for some time does not seem to improve. Mrs. Belle Blevins returned home Saturday after spending a few months with relatives and friends in Maryland and Penn sylvania. Guy W. Pugh and son, Dale, \ isited Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Pugh, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Odell Brown, of Bel Air, Md.: Misses Bitha Stur gill and Leta Faye Woodie, of Piney Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Dent Pugh, were guests of Mrs. Belle Blevins, Sunday. Mrs. Della Ward, Crumpler, vis ited her father, John A. Moxley, and other relatives in this com munity, last Wednesday. Stratford News Mr. and Mrs. Manis Fritts and family, of Mt. City, Tenn.. were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Finney here. Mrs. Carl Douglas and soil, Dean, of Sparta, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Rich ardson. Brice Richardson, U.S.N., spent a short leave with his father, Os car Richardson, here, the latter nart of last week, and visited his mother at Martians hospital, Mt. Airy. Mr. and Mrs, Emmett Moxley, ■ of the state of Washington, Mrs. Leech Shaver and Wayne Moxley of Maryland, have been visiting Mrs. Mat Estep, Mrs. J. R. Wat son and other relatives here. They also visited Mr. Moxley’s and Mrs. Shaver’s father, T. A. Mox ley, at Sparta. Mrs. Shaver and Wayne Moxley have return ed home while Mr. and Mrs. Em mett Moxley remained for a two week’s visit here. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Moxley, of Sparta, were dinner guests of Mat Estep Monday.
