CAROLINA SPARTA SPECTACLES (Continued from Page 4) you this sad, sad tale of woe I heard this week. It proves, for one thing, that there is always humor, even in tragedy. “My sister and I bought an au tomobile together. She learned to drive. I didn’t because I thought I was too nervous. “ITirst she ran into a tree and damaged the car over $200 worth. We had it repaired and the very day it came back, it was parked in front of the house and a man came along and smashed the tail light. “A few months later my sister was driving in the rain one night and lost control of the car and ran off the highway in a nearby community. She had a field about as big as a block to turn around in but instead of putting on the brakes she stepped on the gas. She went through the wall of a filling station. “The proprietor was sick and seeing the car zig-zagging across the field, and then coming through the wall, thought the world had come to an end and had a heart attack. “There was a nickelodion which she drove into, scattering nickels all over the place and breaking every record except one, ‘It Makes No Difference Now’.’’ Elk Creek, November 1 at 2 p. m., with Mrs. Lawrence Reeves; Whitehead, November 5, at 1 p. m., with Mrs. Lee Joines; Cherry Lane, November 6 at 2 p. m., with Mrs. G.
