Stratford News Mr. and Mrs. 'Rex Hines, of Bel Air, Md., spent the week end with his brother, Ralph Hines end Mrs Hines here. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Irwin and Mrs. and Mrs. W. G. Rich ardson and others. They were accompanied home by Anna Sue Osborne who- has spent several weeks in Md. Mr. and Mrs. L. E Edwards, of Hooker, visited Mae and Kel ley Williams, Sunday, and stop ped' a while with Mr and Mrs. L B. Richardson Mrs. Philo Caudill of White head, spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Joines here. Christine Mabe is spending this week with relatives in Galax. Miss Crites Weds Mr. Goodman In Church Ceremony, May 3 In an impressive ceremony Saturday afternoon, May 3 at four-thirty o’clock at Catawba Valley Baptist church Miss Mar jorie Louise Crites became the bride of Clyde Ray Goodman, Re,v. Carl DeVine, the pastor, of ficiated. The altar of the' church was banked with a profusion of native greenery to form a background for the vows. Seven-branched candelabra holding lighted tapers and floor baskets of white gladioli and spirea were arranged to com plete the very effective setting ting relatives here Sunday. She had white accessories and to complete her costume she wore a. purple orchid corsage. Mrs.’ Crites, mother of the bride, wore an aqua dress with black accessories and a shoulder bou quet of red roses. The bride groom’s mother, Mrs. Goodman woite a light blue wool crepe suit with black accessories and a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Goodman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sterling V. Crites, Jr., of Morganton. She was gradu ated from Morganton High School and received business training I at Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory I For the past four years she has been employed in the office ol Huffman Mflls here and now holds the position of bookkeeper. Mr. Goodman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard A. Goodman, Sr., ol Morganton, is a graduate oi Sparta High School. He is a veteran of the United States Ndvy and is now connected with his father in the lumber bus iness riere. ^ For the present the couple will reside with Mr. Goodman’s par ents on Evans street.
