Week—that cross between a
state fair, a week’s vacation, and
a college education they have
every year at State College.
They tell me this is the fortieth
year the state’s farmers and their
wives have spent a week on the
college visitin’ — and hearin’ and
seein’ the latest agricultural de
velopments—*and sittin’ for a
while now ahd then to hear some
one from Washington or Georgia
or elsewhere tell them how they
fit into the broad picture of *e
vents that’s shaping the -world.
Now, I haven’t been to all for
ty of these weeks, but I’ve made
it a point lately to try to get
around to the campus and see
the exhibits and visit old friends
like Jack. Weaver over in Eagle
rock County who have made
farming and homemaking mean
so much to me.
But I was surprised and more
pleased to hear from Agent Wag
goner that the pation’s top mili
tary officer—who led the mighty
invasion to tree all of Europe
from Nazi tyranhy—would be on
hand when Farm and Home Week
rolls around the 25th of this
month for five big days and
mights.,,. ’

gram," he says, “and they’ve got
him down to speak in Riddick
Stadium at eight o’clock Thurs
